IDI
is offering a Electro Impulse Deicing (EIDI) Kit for design,
evaluation, and prototyping purposes. The system is configured for a GA
Aircraft to protect 46 running feet of leading edge, enough for a 30'
to 40' wingspan aircraft. The system consists of an upper and lower leading
edge actuator channel, a power pack for the left wing, right wing, and
tail, and a central controller. The system is configured with one ice
detector, which can be used to trigger the system. A breakout of all components
in the EIDI kit is depicted below:
